Wall starting to collapse as the work was being done. (07/26/05)

The heavy equipment operator sure looks young…

What a muddy mess!

With the brush removed the old bridge looks to narrow for the river.

Neighbors inspecting the work being done.

Steel to support river banks while work is being done.

Looking East.

These (nice) kids show up every night at picture time. 07/27/05

West wing wall ans surface removed.

Steel to prevent the sides of the river bank from falling in.

(07/28/05)

Inspectors! (08/02/05)

Colvet removed - very rusted out (08/03/05)

Inspecting the repaired sewer line.

(08/05/05)

08/11/05 footings are in

Once all the cement is poured the steel walls wil be removed.

Pumps were used to drain the water from behind the steel wall before the cement is poured.

08/14/05 The crane that will be used to lift the pre cast bridge into place.

This thing is BIG!

Remember the hole a few pictures back? Well it's a pond now! The ground was too soft so engineering decided put steel pilings in to support the bridge

One of the pilings opened an artesian well, flooding the work area. Huge problem!!!

09/21/05 The East side footings are done!

The gravel was used to drain the water away while the footing were poured and curing.

Wells were put into the gravel to pump the water away and into the river.

The bridge was made at Advance Concrete months ago - then brought in by truck.

The four sections were leveled then bolted and glued (Yes glue to seal the seems) together.

One big crane to pick these sections up.

Pebble texture on the outside surfaces.

I think Susan and Duke wrote his name in the wet cement - see if you can find it?

Beautiful Bridge!

Creedmoor Bridge

Repaired Northwest wing wall.

The bridge was lifted up temporally to replace the iron shims that were under the main beams. Note the holes in the wall where the jack was mounted.

Freshly sandblasted and painted beams.

East side of bridge.

Sandblasting revealed more rust holes. Now painted to slow down the corrosion process.

New patch to cover the cuts made necessary to lifte the bridge for repair.
